Third consecutive quarter of growth for Japanese economy
Japan’s latest GDP figures reveal that its economy grew for the third consecutive quarter in April-to June.
Monday’s Cabinet Office report stated that the economy grew at an annualized rate real 2.2 percent over the previous quarter.
The main reason for the growth is a recovery in consumer spending, which accounts more than half of Japan’s gross domestic product.
After the March COVID-19 quasi emergencies were lifted in all 50 states, consumer spending in service industries like restaurants and travel increased.

In Japan, coffee chains used nearly 370 million disposable cups in 2020

Data released Wednesday shows that Japan’s per capita debt exceeded 10,000,000 yen, or approximately $75,000, for first time at June’s end. Tokyo spent money on fighting inflation and the coronavirus pandemic.
